Topic: Iran will make Nukes
in the name of cooperation and working proactively to help bring an end to the instability of the Middle East Iran had this to say...(Drudge/MyWay)
"Iran said Saturday it will never agree to a permanent halt on enriching uranium and warned that a more unstable Middle East would result from a U.S.-backed effort to haul Tehran before the U.N. Security Council for possible sanctions."
Iran is no Syria...Despite the fact that many in Iran are pro-reform and desire to have some kind of Democracy running their country. The truth is that Iran remains an Islamic State ruled by the Mullah's and they likely are seeing themselves as the strongest Muslim power left in the region. Now that Iraq is no longer a significant rival that only leaves three countries in the region to contend with: Pakistan (they can work with), India (less so) and Israel (Who has more WMD then them?)
Iranm wishes to be a contender and will not let the U.N. and especially the U.S. tell it what it's going to do.
"Any effort by Washington to bring Tehran's suspended uranium enrichment program under Security Council scrutiny is a dangerous path, warned Iran's top nuclear negotiator, Hasan Rowhani.
Speaking during a two-day international conference on nuclear technology, Rowhani said Iran will halt negotiations and resume uranium enrichment "without any hesitation" if European negotiators insist Iran make its temporary suspension of uranium enrichment permanent.
"Americans and Europeans will be the first to lose in that case," he told more than 50 nuclear scientists and experts attending the Tehran conference. "It will cause problems for regional energy and for the European economy. "And it will cause additional problems for America. Therefore, no one will benefit from this. It's playing with fire."
I am sure it will be just a matter of time until Bush or somebody else from the Administration will totally either ignore this message or re-state it in a context that indicates Iran is evil, or hate freedom or otherwise. See, this statement falls directly in line with the general message the various "enemies' of America have been stating weather it be Iran, Osam Bin Laden or Zarqawi in Iraq. The problem with these on-going wars on terrorism is that to the "enemy" we are invadfing infidels that have been interfering in Muslim lands for far too long. We are a great Satan to them and they are fighting us to remove us from the region so that they may better control their lands.
Granted they do not have there world lined up ina row these days but our running around killing and bombing is doing little to help. I know that the Iraqi election is promising, the possibility of Syria leaving Beruit is promising, the notion that there just might be some peace of some kind established between Israle and Palestine is promising but nothing is definite yet. Iran, I believe, have no intention to do much of anything to appease anyone in the West be it U.S. or the Europeans. We need to seek a new approach to dealing with these countries. I don't think it effective to dole out threats to these places and telling them that they haven't the right to seek Nuclear power. While I don't want them to have nukes either I do want them to be dealt with seriously and I would like to see them do away with this sort of "do this OR ELSE" philosophy. More conflict and more war will not help Bush's cause.
