Embattled DeLay says he's sorry
"House Majority Leader Tom DeLay offered an uncharacteristic apology Wednesday for remarks he made the day Terri Schiavo died when he suggested that the judges who refused to intervene in her case must "answer for their behavior."
At the same time, a White House spokesman downplayed President Bush's relationship with the embattled DeLay, calling them working friends, not close friends as he had said recently. Meanwhile, a senior aide to House Speaker Dennis Hastert (R-Ill.) suggested that DeLay may soon need to publicly answer the ethical questions dogging him about his fundraising and travel activities."
Hmm, Delay feels the need to say, "I'm sorry" and by sheer coincidence the White House pipes up and makes a point to mention that Delay and Dubya really aren't that great of friends. In fact, they hardly know each other! Oh, actually Delay walked right by Dubya the other day and neither noticed the other due to their barely having any idea who each other were. Yeah, that's the ticket!
Anyway..How pathetic was Delay's apology? Not very but maybe just enough:
"It was taken wrong, and I didn't explain it or clarify my remarks as I'm clarifying them here. I am sorry that I said it that way and I shouldn't have," DeLay said.
AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!
I will remember to feel bad when he eventually is forced to resign.
