Topic: Jeffords says he's out.
Well, 2006 is roaring right up ont he congressional election calendar! Shit, for that matter in some circles the 2008 election is roaring right up...The GOP is doing the how are we gonna replace Bush dance all the while convincing America how henious Hillary Clinton would be as a Democratic candidate depsite her saying repeatedly that she isn't running.
For my money our works starts in the Senate and House in '06. With shitastic crap flying through the house and senate such as that remarkably horrible bankruptcy bill, the potential removal of the filibuster option when it concerns GOP approved judicial nominees and just the general stupidty of conservative knockers of cock such as Tom Delay the pendulum realy needs to start swinging back towards the left.
One thing that helped fuck up the right's power throttle in the last bunch of years was the fa ct that Vermont's Jim Jeffords split ways with the GOP and became an independent. I thought a respectable choice. Not that he instantly became a lefty Democrat but he did remain a voice of freaking reason and kept the small match burning for the possibility of an actual and viable third party. Of course, the reality of a viable third party is right up there with marijuana decriminalization being something that makes real sense but might never happen. At any rate, Jeffords has decided to end his run in '06...(Chicago Tribune)
"Sen. Jim Jeffords, an independent who triggered one of the most dramatic upheavals in U.S. Senate history when he quit the GOP four years ago, announced Wednesday he would retire at the end of his term next year, citing his and his wife's health."
So, you KNOW the GOP is going to do what it needs to do to re-secure that seat in the red. There will be other seats up for grabs and well this is up to us. I am one of the people who typically don't vote on the off year elections usually due to circumstance or just being lazy. Not this time. This election (in my mind) carries the same kind of impact and weight that the '04 did. It's time to take back our country from the clasps of the Right. It's time to build a front against W and the whomever they dig up to replace him in '08. I don't know who and how yet but hopefully someone will step up. Who is it gonna' be?
Current polls and Dubya's freaking ricockulous Social Security plan, that whole Terri Schiavo thing combined with this "culture of life" being crammed right down our throats are starting to turn the tide. Too late since we just had the '04 election but I am thinking people are starting to notice that they have been duped by this administration. They spent so much time lsitening to Kerry's a flip-flopper and all of that that they missed the reasons why they shouldn't have voted this schmuck back in...
Stay tuned!
