Topic: Checking in with the V.P.
Our Vice-President is always right, don't you know. Recently he had said that the insurgency in Iraq is in it's last throes and this week Rummy, Gen Casey and Gen. Abazaid said that nothing has changed with the insurgency in the last six months. They refuesed to dispute or speak in a light that would contradict the Vice-President despite the fact they were actually doing just that. Gotta love American politics.
Truth, justice, honesty...True politicians need not these things.
Speaking of Dick Cheney, Drudge had a useless entry up this morning that made me laugh. Apparently, (Drudge says) that CNN asked Dick about those Downing Street Memos that the Media and Washington are working hard at pretending they don't matter:
"And remember what happened after the supposed memo was written. We went to the United Nations. We got a unanimous vote out of the Security Council for a resolution calling on Saddam Hussein to come clean and comply with the UN Security Council resolution. We did everything we could to resolve this without having to use military force. We gave him one last chance even, and asked him to step down before we launched military operations.
"The memo is just wrong. In fact, the president of the United States took advantage of every possibility to try to resolve this without having to use military force. It wasn't possible in this case. I am convinced we did absolutely the right thing. I am convinced that history will bear that out."
Wow, I want to live in the fantasy land where Cheney lives, tis sucha better place where authenticated and confirmed documents are really just 'supposed.' IN fact, he was so sure that the memos were wrong he felt compelled to once again tells us how he knows they were right to do this AND that he magically knows that history is going to paint them in the best light possible...Why?! Becasue they are (on the) RIGHT!
