Bush is on his European "Fence Mending' tour this week smearing his bullshit all over several allies and NATO in general. He is attempting to convince them that we are on the level in that we want to work together and leave our minor dissagreements of the past in the past. Thus we were all treated to a lovely picture of Dubya sitting side by side with the President of our arch nemesis...FRANCE! They got along well and both agreed that they are both mad at Syria and think that they need to get the F out of Lebannon or else they will put some cooperative sanctions on their ass I suppose.
He also had some strong words for Russia as he said that they need to make a bigger priority of Democracy over there. Or what? Will we start up a new cold war? I thought Putin and Bush were on the same page, they were buds! They are both ginormous dickholes so doesn't it add up that there would be no need for this kind of rhetoric? Who knows, I actually concur that Russia needs to get its shit together better. Putin is clearly a tough leader but it seems like the whole free Russia thing may really be just a lot of lip service more than a reality.
Never the less, is it advisable to insult the guy a mere week before visiting? Imagine if the situation were reversed and Putin was in Central America and a few days before visiting the U.S. he states in public that Bush needs to get the U.S. priorities straight! The anti-Russian shit storm that would have created on Fox news alone would be legendary.
The question also floated up about Iran. Amazingly enough Bush noted that we are in the early stages of dipliomacy! I was shocked too...I mean they are not even on the agenda at this point yet, by a miracle, we are starting diplomacy. even the Europeans and the Iranians seemed doubtful (I can't imagine why they don't believe President Bush! He's the President he has never lied about anything before...)) and pressed him more today:
(Tribune)
U.S. President George W. Bush said Tuesday that it is "simply ridiculous" to assume that the United States has plans to attack Iran over its alleged nuclear weapons program after discussing the issue with European allies.
"This notion that the United States is getting ready to attack Iran is simply ridiculous. Having said that, all options are on the table," Bush said.
HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!
How anyone kept a straight face when he launched that whopper I will never know. I mean I will try and believe that we are not actively planning the invasion as we speak but what kills me is that he seems incredulous himself. "This notion" is "simply ridiculous." Is he seriously surprised that the Iranians and Europeans think this a real possibility?! This is just further evidence of Dubya's, to borrow a phrase from a male prostitute, divorce from reality.
Welp, as long as all those fences are mended, right? I mean Europe has been having the superstar tour of America lately what with Condi flying through last week for BJs and now Dubya is in town for the full on deep penetration action...they must be exhausted. I know I am.
